Skyss
Skyss is the public authority responsible for public bus, light rail (“Bybanen”), boat and ferry services in the county of Vestland, Norway.
Ticket Information
Tickets are divided into zones and time. You choose the zones you want to travel in, and then choose for how long you want them to stay active for. For updated prices, check the link below, or any of the ticket apps.
Where to Buy Tickets
Tickets can be bought in several apps as you can see below. You can also get tickets on the Customer service center at Bergen Bus Station. You can also buy tickets aboard busses and boats, but on the light rail, you need to buy the ticket in advance.
Boats and Ferries
For boats and ferries, you can buy tickets inside the Skyss Billett app. Boats and ferries operated for Skyss are priced based on distance. Please check the Skyss Billett app for updated prices. Askøybåten and Nordhordlandsbåten are included in your Zone A ticket, and does not require a separate ticket.
Vy Trains

You can use your 1 hour or 24 hour Zone A ticket between Bergen and Arna/Trengereid

For Travel out of zone A and inside zone E and F, you need a 7, 30 or 180 day ticket to use it on the train

Train number needs to start with either R or L if you want to use your Skyss ticket on that line. Skyss tickets are not valid on Flåmsbana. For other tickets with Vy, please check vy.no
Traveling With Children Under the Age of 18
One full paying adult are allowed to bring up to four children on their ticket free of charge. Unaccompanied children between the age of 6-18 need to have their own child ticket, and also an ID with date of birth.
Single Ticket Discount
If you pay for your ticket in either the Skyss Billett, Entur or Vy app, you will automatically start to collect discounts on your next purchase. You get a 2% discount per ticket with a maximum discount of 40%. This is only for the adult tickets.

How to Ride the System
Busses in Zone A and Bybanen
If you have a ticket, you can board through any doors. If you don't have a ticket use the front door. For Bybanen you need to have a ticket before you board.
Remember to give a sign to the bus driver that you want to ride the bus. Press the stop buttons when you want to go off. Bybanen stops at all the stops, and signaling is not required. The stop buttons inside bybanen only works as a door opener.
Busses in the Rest of Vestland
Use the front doors to enter. Remember to give a sign to the bus driver that you want to ride the bus. Press the stop buttons when you want to go off.

Tickets must be activated before you enter the bus or light rail

A ticket can expire while you ride on the bus or light rail, as long as it was valid when you entered the bus or light rail

For discounted tickets, you also need to bring ID to verify that you can travel on that ticket.

Food and drinks are not allowed to be consumed on board busses and light rail. Water should be fine.
